A strange call came into 911. The caller was a 5-year-old girl named Mia. She sounded frightened and was whispering.

“Please come. Someone is whispering under my bed. I hear them. I’m really scared…” her voice trembled.
“Where are your parents, Mia?”
“They don’t believe me… They say I’m making it up… But I hear it. Right now… I hear it again…”
The dispatcher had been working in emergency services for 12 years, but this call gave him chills. The girl clearly wasn’t lying or joking.
“We’re sending officers right now. Stay on the line, okay?”
Ten minutes later, officers arrived at a house on the outskirts of town. Surprised parents opened the door.
“What’s going on? Did Mia make something up again?” the father asked, exchanging glances with his wife.
“We’re just going to check,” the sergeant replied. “May we go to her room?”
Mia was sitting in the corner of her room, clutching a teddy bear tightly. Her eyes were full of tears. Without a word, she pointed at her small bed with the pink blanket.

“The voices are from there…” she whispered.
One of the officers got down on his knees and looked under the bed. It was empty—just some dust and a few fallen toys, nothing suspicious.
“There’s nothing here,” he began to stand up. “Looks like someone has a very vivid imagination. The parents will get a warning for a false call…”
“Wait,” the other officer suddenly said sharply. He raised his hand. “Shh… silence. No one make a sound.”
A heavy silence fell over the room. Even the parents in the hallway froze. Half a minute passed… then a full minute… And then everyone heard the sound little Mia had described.
When they looked under the bed again, they saw something terrifying. 😨😱
And then… again. A quiet, barely audible whisper. But it wasn’t a voice. It was a sound… like metal scraping, muffled by the earth.
As if someone… was digging.

The officer got down on the floor and started tapping on the boards. In one corner, the sound was dull. The police quickly removed a small section of the parquet — and beneath it, they found a thin layer of soil.
Taking a shovel from the garage, they began to dig… and just a few centimeters down, they hit a metal hatch. Underneath it — a tunnel.
They called for backup. After two hours, it was revealed: under the house and the neighboring lots lay an entire network of tunnels.
Inside them were three fugitives — former prisoners who had been hiding for several months, preparing to escape the country by digging a passage right under the city.
Using special equipment, they worked at night, trying to avoid making noise — but little Mia heard them anyway.
Thanks to the girl’s call, they were caught. Since then, Mia has been sleeping peacefully.
