The criminals decided to rob the house of a lonely old woman, but a very unpleasant surprise awaited them at her home.

The criminals had been watching this neighborhood for several days. They observed every movement, recorded when the lights turned on and off, who left and who came.

Their goal was simple — a house at the end of the street, old and peeling, with faded blue window frames. An elderly woman lived there, about whom few knew much. But the thieves knew more than they should.

The neighbors foolishly let slip that the old woman had a son who lived far away but sent her money every month. She didn’t trust banks and hid the bills under her mattress. She was “old school,” as they said. This was the last straw — too easy a target.

At night, fully equipped, wearing black masks and gloves, the thieves approached the house. They didn’t want to risk the door — too noisy. They decided to sneak in through an old window that, according to their observations, had not been fully closed for a long time. The break-in took only a couple of minutes. Everything was going according to plan.

But just a moment before they climbed inside, they noticed something strange and deeply regretted their decision. 😱😱

The house looked dark, as it should at night, but deep inside the hallway there was some movement. One of them stopped, squinted — and froze. Eyes were staring back at him from the darkness. Large, calm, confident eyes. Not human. An animal’s.

In the next second, everything happened too fast.

From the hallway, a huge Alabai dog lunged at them with a furious growl. The dog dashed across the wooden floor with incredible speed and in a matter of seconds reached the window. One of the thieves failed to react in time — he fell backward; the second ran away but stumbled.

The old woman, awakened by the noise, did not panic. She grabbed her phone and called the police. “Yes, I have burglars. But don’t worry, the dog is already dealing with them,” she said calmly into the phone.

By the time the patrol arrived, one thief was lying on the ground with a torn leg, the other was sitting in a corner, pressed against the wall, too scared to move.

The huge Alabai stood like a guardian between them, silent, but every look he gave said one thing: one more step — and you will regret it.

It later turned out that the woman’s son, an officer at a canine training center, had given her this dog after her husband’s death. “Let him protect you, Mom,” he said back then. And the dog lived up to that trust.

The course of events shocked even the police themselves. They expected to find a frightened old woman — but instead found a hostess calmly offering tea to the officers, with the hero of that night lying faithfully at her feet — the fierce and loyal Alabai.
