The puppy was freezing; he was trembling but couldn’t even run around to warm up because people had left him outside, firmly tied to the post. Local residents noticed that no one had come back for the dog for a long time and called rescuers.

The rescuers began to approach the puppy, who suddenly let out a loud cry. On one hand, he wanted to attract attention and was excited about the upcoming rescue, but on the other hand, he was very scared because he didn’t know what to expect from strangers, especially since his beloved owners had abandoned him on the street.

“He was lying in the snow, pressed against the post. His reaction touched each of us. He cried so loudly and so desperately; it was clear that he couldn’t believe that rescue was near but was also scared and didn’t know what to expect from people,” said one of the volunteers who took the dog off the street.
The puppy still allowed the woman to approach him. In the car, he warmed up and calmed down, and upon arriving at the shelter, he happily wagged his tail at the staff.

Judging by Virer’s appearance—that’s the name they gave the puppy—his past life had been difficult. At the shelter, the dog was treated and surrounded with care. The staff wanted to find a foster home for Virer but were able to immediately find a family where he learned what care, human love, and true friendship with his peers really mean.
