No one immediately knew where she had come from. A young girl, around six years old, stood on the pavement dressed in a pristine white dress — as if she had just come from a celebration.

People paused. One person suggested buying her some water, another proposed calling social services. The girl appeared well looked after, not like a stray child. Yet she stayed silent, until she softly whispered:
— I heard voices…
That unsettled everyone. Finally, someone called the authorities.
Fifteen minutes later, a young sergeant arrived — with weary eyes. He knelt beside the girl and spoke softly:
— Hello. What’s your name? Where are your parents? Why are you here all alone?
The girl glanced at the officer and said quietly:
— The voices told me to leave the house.
— What voices, dear?
The officer was horrified by what the girl revealed next 😱😨

— I didn’t see. I was hiding behind the door… First, there was a loud bang. Then the voices said, “Go away. Or you will die.”
She hesitated, then quietly asked:
— Sir, what does “die” mean?
The officer felt a chill run through him.
— Where do you live? — he asked, trying to remain composed.
The girl extended her arm and pointed toward the house at the end of the street. It was an ordinary-looking home with a front garden. Quiet, neat, curtains drawn.
The sergeant stepped inside. The door was ajar.
He took only a few steps before he stopped, frozen.
On the living room floor lay a woman. Her face was pale, without breath or pulse. The truth was undeniable, even without words.

Later, it was uncovered that the girl’s father, in a fit of rage, had murdered his wife. Hearing the scream, the girl had run to the bedroom door — but didn’t go inside. Then, through the panic and terror, her father’s voice whispered:
— Go. Run now.
He had tried to protect her from witnessing what he had done. But he didn’t realize she would feel it all the same.
She fled. Alone. In her white dress. Into the street — toward strangers, hoping someone would hear her.
And she survived. Escaping her own father, the very person who was meant to protect her.
