It was the most joyous day of my life — our wedding day. I was marrying the woman I adored with all my heart. We had spent over a year preparing for this occasion, and everything had to be flawless. Nearly a hundred people had gathered for the event — family, friends, and coworkers. The atmosphere was pure happiness.
Everyone came over to congratulate us, offering wishes of love, faithfulness, and many blissful years ahead. I was standing among the guests when my bride stepped away briefly to take photos with her friends.
Suddenly, a woman I didn’t recognize approached me, dressed in a long green gown. I assumed she was a guest from my wife’s side and, not wanting to be impolite, I accepted her congratulations. However, there was something strange about her tone. She spoke as though she’d known me for ages — referencing details, dropping hints, and joking far too familiarly.
A feeling of discomfort began to rise in me. But before I could respond, something unexpected occurred.
My dog, Koko, who had been resting quietly near our table, suddenly sprang up, lunged at the woman, and bit her on the arm. The woman screamed in pain and terror, struggling to fend off the dog and pleading with us to control him. Guests rushed over, including my bride.

It was revealed that the woman was the mother of my former girlfriend. We had been together before I met my wife. After our breakup, she endured a very tough period — losing her job, leaving the city, and coming close to a complete breakdown.
Her mother held me responsible for everything and believed I had “destroyed” her daughter’s life. She had come to the wedding with the intention to disrupt it. What exactly she planned, we still don’t know. But Koko sensed something was amiss long before anyone else did.
