My Brother and His Wife Left Our Mother at the Airport and Went on Vacation: I Had to Teach Them a Harsh Lesson

When my brother and his wife decided to go on a week-long vacation, I was surprised — for the first time in a long while, he wanted to take our mother with them. It seemed like some care and humanity had awakened in his voice again. But I knew his wife — a woman with a difficult personality — was against the idea. Our mother has been using a wheelchair for quite some time now, and I overheard my sister-in-law trying to convince my brother that the trip would be “too inconvenient.”

— “You do realize we can’t spend the whole vacation looking after your mom,” she told him. “Let’s do it next time…”

But my brother insisted. And though I was worried, I helped our mother get ready. We carefully packed her things, I took them to the airport, said goodbye. Mom was smiling — it felt good to her that her son hadn’t forgotten her.

Only half an hour later, she called me.

— “Mom? Why are you calling? You should already be in the air!”

— “They left without me…”

Her voice was trembling.

— “They said I was going with them, but when they went to board, my daughter-in-law told me she’d check us in first and then come back for me. She just disappeared. Then I saw them through the window… They flew off, and I was left here. Alone.”

I couldn’t believe my ears. I rushed back to the airport. Mom was still there, sitting in the waiting area with her suitcase, still wearing her coat, tear-streaked and confused. I hugged her tightly, furious at the cruelty and betrayal.

Later I learned that my sister-in-law had simply lied to my brother, telling him that mom was already on board and everything was fine. He took his seat, not suspecting for a second that his mother was left behind at the airport. How convenient — get rid of the burden and still look caring.

That’s when I realized: I had to teach that shameless woman a lesson and show her that you cannot treat an elderly person like that 😢😢
Here’s what I did next — and I hope for your kind words of support ⬇️⬇️

My brother and his wife were living in our parents’ house. Mom never interfered, always tried to be a kind mother-in-law, and put up with a lot. But now I knew — there was nothing left to tolerate.

While they were away on vacation, I spoke to Mom. Without hesitation, she signed the deed of gift for the house over to me.

— “You’re my daughter, and I know you’d never leave me at the airport like unwanted luggage.”

The house was now ours. Legally. Officially. And justly.

A week later, my brother and his wife returned from vacation — tanned, cheerful, with a ton of photos. But it was me who met them at the door.

— “Please take your things. Go live somewhere where your idea of ‘family’ still means something. You are no longer welcome here.”

My sister-in-law screamed. She threatened. My brother tried to explain. But it was too late.

Mom sat by the window, sipping tea. Smiling. And this time — it was genuine.
