The heroes of this story are a cat and a dog who had been surviving on the streets for a long time until someone came to help them. It all began when the man noticed a stray dog near his house. The animal was very hungry and clearly expecting puppies soon.
The man couldn’t take the dog home, and there were no shelters in the city. To help the animal somehow, he built a doghouse near his home so the dog could shelter from rain and wind. The man fed the dog, and she gradually began to gain weight.
One day, the man noticed that near the doghouse there were tracks not only from the dog but from another animal as well. When he looked inside the shelter, he saw the dog and a cat huddled together asleep. The cat was pregnant too.
The animals were very different, but they managed to get along, sharing their home and the food the man brought them. The man couldn’t pass by such a touching sight and made a video, which immediately went viral online.
In early autumn, the dog gave birth to puppies. The cat helped her friend care for the babies, washing and warming them.
A week later, tiny kittens appeared in the small shelter as well. The man joked that he had built a doghouse, but it turned out to be a maternity ward. The cat and the dog jointly cared for all the babies, not distinguishing between their own and others’.
The man continues to feed his wards, looking for new owners for the little ones.
