Desperate to get rid of his wife without enduring a messy divorce, a husband devised a chilling plan. He took her deep into a remote forest, intending to abandon her there in the middle of the night. But when a massive wolf suddenly emerged from the darkness, everything changed in a way he could never have anticipated…
For months, Alexandre had been convinced that marrying Victoria had been a mistake.

There had been a time when he truly loved her. But little by little, those feelings had faded. Another woman had begun occupying more and more of his thoughts, until he found himself dreaming of starting a new life by her side.
The idea of divorce held no appeal for him. Endless arguments, dividing their possessions, legal proceedings—he saw all of it as an unnecessary burden. In his mind, there was a much easier solution.
For weeks, he carefully planned every detail of his scheme with unsettling precision. Only when he believed everything had been perfectly arranged did he decide it was time to act.
One evening, he suggested that Victoria join him on a short getaway outside the city so they could relax together. Completely unsuspecting, she agreed with excitement.
During the drive, Alexandre discreetly slipped a powerful sedative into her drink. Before long, Victoria drifted into a deep sleep.
By the time the car left the main road and turned onto a narrow path leading into the forest, there were no signs of civilization anywhere nearby. The winter night was bitterly cold. A thick blanket of snow covered the ground, while the wind whispered through the bare branches overhead.
Alexandre stopped the car and sat motionless for a few seconds, listening to the oppressive silence surrounding him.
Then he stepped outside, lifted his unconscious wife into his arms, and disappeared among the trees.
He intended to leave her as far from the road as possible—somewhere she would never be able to find her way back on her own.
He walked through the darkness for what felt like an eternity before spotting an enormous old oak tree, its trunk towering above the snowy landscape.
“No one will come looking for you here,” he muttered under his breath.
Just as he was about to lay Victoria down on the snow and leave, an unusual sound echoed behind him.
He froze and quickly looked up.
A wolf.
The animal was enormous. Its thick gray fur blended almost perfectly with the surrounding darkness. It stood only a few yards away, staring directly at him.
Alexandre felt the blood drain from his face.

His heart pounded so violently that he could hear every beat echoing in his ears.
The wolf took a step forward.
Then another.
Still holding Victoria in his arms, Alexandre slowly began backing away.
But suddenly, the beast lunged toward him…
And in that very instant, something utterly terrifying unfolded before his eyes…
The wolf suddenly charged in Alexandre’s direction.
Overcome with panic, he let out a terrified scream, dropped Victoria into the snow, and bolted through the trees as fast as he could.
He ran without thinking, slipping on the frozen ground and stumbling repeatedly, convinced that the beast was right behind him. His breathing grew increasingly ragged as fear clouded his judgment.
After several long minutes of desperate flight, he finally gathered the courage to glance over his shoulder.
There was nothing there.
The wolf had never pursued him.
Instead, the animal had returned to the woman he had abandoned. Approaching her cautiously, it settled down beside her.
For several moments, the wolf watched Victoria closely, almost as if trying to understand who she was. Then, with unexpected gentleness, it began licking her hands and face.
Little by little, Victoria regained consciousness.
She slowly opened her eyes, confused and disoriented. For a few seconds, she couldn’t comprehend where she was.
Then she noticed the enormous wolf sitting in front of her.
Startled, she quickly pulled herself upright. Yet the animal showed no signs of aggression.
It remained perfectly still and silent, observing her with a strange sense of calm.
Gradually, fragments of the evening returned to her memory.
The drive through the countryside.
The sudden wave of exhaustion.
And then… nothing.
As she looked around, horror washed over her. She realized she was alone in the middle of a snow-covered forest.

Fortunately, the moonlight illuminated the surroundings well enough for her to make out a narrow path weaving through the trees.
Lowering her gaze, she noticed numerous footprints pressed into the snow.
Among them were Alexandre’s.
Realizing that these tracks might be her only chance of finding her way back to civilization, she decided to follow them.
For a while, the wolf walked alongside her, keeping a distance of only a few yards.
Like a silent guardian.
Then, without making a sound, it came to a stop.
After casting one final glance in her direction, it disappeared into the shadowy depths of the forest.
Nearly an hour later, exhausted but unharmed, Victoria finally reached the main road.
Passing motorists spotted her immediately and rushed to help.
Once she was safe, she recounted everything that had happened that night to the authorities.
The investigation moved swiftly.
Alexandre was arrested the very next morning.
While awaiting trial, he attempted to defend himself by claiming that the entire situation had resulted from the wolf’s intervention.
But no one took his explanation seriously.
Because, in truth, it was not the wolf that had committed the crime.
Quite the opposite.
The animal had prevented a tragedy from taking place.
That wild creature had displayed more compassion and humanity than the man who had once vowed to love and protect Victoria.
In the end, it was the wolf emerging from the depths of the frozen forest that saved the life of the woman her own husband had condemned to die alone in the bitter cold of winter.
