To secure the victory, my rival deliberately broke my right leg while calling me a “loser.” But she had no idea how I was going to respond…
There were only ten minutes left before I was due to step onto the stage.
In the dressing room, I calmly finished getting ready.

I adjusted my tutu, tightened the ribbons on my pointe shoes, and mentally reviewed every movement of my choreography. For nearly a year, my instructor and I had worked tirelessly for this competition.
My days had been filled with long hours of training, painful stretches, endless rehearsals, and the careful refinement of every single movement.
Before leaving the dressing room, my instructor placed a hand on my shoulder.
“Today, show them everything you’re capable of. I truly believe this victory belongs to you.”
I smiled at him and nodded.
I had not felt this prepared in a very long time. Everything was in place, and nothing seemed capable of ruining the day.
Then, without warning, the door flew open.
My biggest rival walked in.
We faced each other at nearly every competition.
She always found a way to unsettle me—cruel remarks, mocking laughter, constant provocation. She repeatedly told me that I would never be talented enough to become the best.
She approached slowly and stared directly into my eyes with a contemptuous smile.
“So, are you ready to lose again?”
I refused to look away.
“No. This time, I’m going to win. I’ve prepared a performance that will convince every member of the judging panel.”
Her expression immediately hardened.
The smile vanished from her face, replaced by cold fury.
“Oh… really?”
Without the slightest warning, she shoved me violently.
I lost my balance and crashed heavily to the floor. Before I could even attempt to stand, she drove the tip of her pointe shoe down onto my right leg.

A scream escaped my lips.
Instead of stepping back, she pressed even harder.
Then I heard a sickening crack.
Unbearable pain shot through my entire body, blurring my vision.
I tried to push her away, but she merely smiled with satisfaction.
“Let’s see how you plan to win the competition now.”
After saying that, she turned around and calmly walked out of the dressing room, as though nothing had happened.
I remained sprawled across the floor, unable to hold back my tears.
My rival was convinced that she had permanently eliminated her greatest threat.
But she had no idea that what she had just done would unleash consequences beyond anything she could ever have imagined.
A few minutes later, the organizers and the medical team came rushing into the dressing room.
After a brief examination, the diagnosis was unmistakable: with an injury that severe, there was no chance I could perform.
An ambulance took me to the hospital while the competition continued without me.
Lying in my hospital bed, I replayed the attack over and over again in my mind.
The pain from the fracture was excruciating, but another kind of suffering hurt even more.
I could not understand how someone could destroy another person’s dream simply to improve their own chances of winning.
Still, I refused to let the story end there.
As soon as my condition allowed it, I asked the organizers to preserve every piece of footage recorded by the surveillance cameras near the dressing rooms.
The corridor and all the entrances were monitored continuously.

The recordings clearly showed my rival entering my dressing room just minutes before I was supposed to perform, then leaving alone with an unnervingly calm expression.
When the staff reviewed the complete footage, they discovered something she had never expected.
A small security camera had also been installed inside the dressing room to protect the contestants.
The entire attack had been captured.
Her voice could be heard clearly.
“Now let’s see how you plan to win.”
The following day, the footage was presented to the competition directors and the entire judging panel.
After watching the video, their decision was immediate and unanimous.
She was disqualified on the spot.
But the consequences did not end there.
Before long, the recording began circulating among instructors at some of the country’s most prestigious ballet academies.
Within a matter of weeks, leading schools and several renowned theaters refused to let her audition.
No one was willing to trust a dancer who had deliberately injured a competitor just to secure a victory.
Several months later, the organizers contacted me again.
They explained that they had carefully reviewed the rehearsal videos I had submitted during the selection process.
The recordings had impressed the judges so deeply that they decided to present me with a special award for the finest interpretation of the program—the same performance I had never been given the chance to present before an audience.
By the time I received the award, I was finally able to walk again after months of exhausting rehabilitation.
At that moment, I understood one simple truth.
She had broken my leg because she wanted to steal my victory.
In the end, the only career she had destroyed was her own.
